Hurricane Select
Athletes can join Select as early as 6 or 7 years old, and continue with our Select program throughout High School.
Select is a development program that requires athletes to spend more time doing deliberate training, on the pitch and at home.
- Athletes from the ages of U7-U9 (6 to 9 years old) are required to do both our Recreational and Select programs, Select Registration includes Rec fees.
- Athletes at the age of U10 (9 &10 years old) can choose to do Select only and will not be placed on a House Rec team.
- Athletes at the age of U11-U12 (10-12years old) can choose to Select only
Hurricane Select for U7-U10s (6-10yr olds)
During this age it is important for our athlete to have fun, but also to start learning to be responsible for their actions or non-actions and establishing a work ethic. Consequently, playing with or against their friends and peers at this age is also very important for the Social development playing their own age in our Rec program.
Practice format is they will have 1 practice per week from their Rec Coach, and then 1 practice per week from their Select Coach.
Game format is they will have their Rec game(s) at our Home location (Pathway's community church) on Saturday mornings, then have their Select game(s) either Home or Away on Saturday or Sunday afternoons.
